The PIS.A.R.T.E. Project has come to its conclusion
The PIS.A.R.T.E. Project, with the co-financing of the European Commission and the support of the Italian Civil Protection Department, has come to its conclusion.
The Project, that lasted for two years and started on January 2009, has got two main objectives: to give a rapid response either within the EU or in third countries during emergencies caused by various catastrophes; and to integrate the medical module of the Emergency Surgery Group and the module of search and rescue victims under debris of the Fire Department of Pisa plus logistic support and telecommunication network provided respectively by the Italian Red Cross of Pisa and the Municipality of Pisa.
In order to develop an effective operative attitude able to allow the rapid response capability of the two modules, some activities have been carried out, as: a Training Programme developed during the year 2009; the deployment of the medical module during the Haiti emergency between January and February 2010; a Functional Exercise carried out in May 2010 in the area of the city of Pisa and data collected required for the drawing up of Common Standard Operating Procedures which were consolidated by experts during a Workshop in October 2010.
These activities are shown in details in some products like a DVD in English containing all the information related to more significant aspects of the Project's activities, a Manual of PIS.A.R.T.E. Standard Operating Procedures in a double version English and Italian and a bilingual Layman's Report.
